Artist Portraits for Auckland Art Gallery
We were originally commissioned to produce a series profiling artists whose work was featured in Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki’s landmark exhibition, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art.
The approach we took was to conceptualise each story alongside the featured artist, creating bespoke pieces to suit each individual artist. These stories then come together to form a unified collection about art making within te ao Māori.
This project has now expanded to include artists of all backgrounds who’s work features at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
